UVA This is known as the ‘ageing’ ray, being both the longest ray in wavelength and can be the worst ray in terms of causing ageing to the skin as it is there every day. Even on a cloudy day, when we think ‘no need for sunscreen today’, it penetrates, even through windows, and we are unaware it is getting us!

UVB This is known as the ‘burning’ ray and this one is a little easier to protect against as we can feel ut when its getting us. Although I would argue by that point it’s too late…. the damage has been done!

UVC This is known as the ‘cancer’ ray, this is luckily the shortest ray in wavelength and, at present, it appears that it doesn’t enter our atmosphere from the sun. Yet another reason to do our bit to protect our ozone layer!
