Retinoid Response
Retinoid Response
Retinoid Response When starting your Vitamin A journey there maybe a few things that you may see happen before you start to see the results in your skin - this is due to the active nature of the skincare. It is important that this is not to be confused as having a reaction to the product. It is actually a good sign that your skin is adapting and showing that the products are working, which could include some initial dryness and or a small chance of a slight break out. This is called a purge and will subside within a few weeks maximum. However, in the incredibly rare chance that retinoid response (transient dryness/flaking to top layer of skin or redness) has occurred, this is your skin’s message to slow down. You must stop using vitamin A on the affected area and, once the response has subsided, slowly reintroduce the vitamin A and lower the dosage.
