Acids
Salicylic Acid - BHA This is great for a congested, thickened or acne skin. It works by cutting through the surface oil and dissolving the skin debris and sebum that clogs up the pores. It is anti-bacterial - think of it as having a scooping affect in the pores.
Lactic Acid – AHA - This is by far my personal favourite! This is great for a dehydrated, or dull skin or pigmentation. This acid is easily tolerated on the skin due to it having a larger molecule weight. It works to speed up cell turnover which results in brighter skin that glows with radiance. It is hydrating and exfoliating. Think of this one like Pacman - the super friendly guy that tidy ups the dead skin cells whilst brightening the skin up along the way!
Glycolic Acid – AHA - This is great for stubborn congestion, aging, sun damaged or thickened skin. This one works by dissolving the tightly packed layers of dead skin cells that are in the stratum corneum (top layer of the skin) getting deep into the layers of the skin. It can achieve this as it has a very small molecule weight. It can then stimulate the collagen which helps to reduce the lines and wrinkles. Think of this one like it’s a glue dissolver.
